Compliance Control and Risk Management Controller
Job Description:
Cross Border Talents is looking for professional English speakers for the role of Compliance and Risk Management Controller in Lisbon.
As a Compliance and Risk Management Controller, you will support the execution of compliance control and independent testing activities across multiple European entities within a leading international banking and insurance group (insurance and protection business line). The role ensures consistent application of compliance standards, risk monitoring, and control quality across all relevant locations.

Main responsibilities

Execution of Compliance Control Plans
- Prepare compliance controls in coordination with Local Compliance Officers
- Conduct on-site control testing across multiple countries
- Document findings and formalize control reports and feedback
- Share results with Compliance Control & Risk Management teams, compliance domains, and regional officers
- Report quarterly results through dedicated governance tools

Independent Testing
- Perform compliance independent testing activities across the assigned perimeter
- Ensure alignment with internal methodologies and control frameworks

Risk & Control Framework Contribution
- Contribute to compliance risk mapping and operational risk analysis
- Participate in the review of operational incidents and control outcomes
- Support continuous improvement of the compliance framework in collaboration with head office teams

Quality & Consistency
- Ensure consistent service quality and adherence to global compliance standards
Profile required
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in compliance, audit, risk, or internal control
- Previous exposure to compliance control frameworks is highly valued
- Experience with control testing and risk management processes is a strong plus
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
Work model
- First month on-site
- Afterwards: hybrid model (50% office / 50% remote), subject to autonomy
